Number of tourists in September 2019

The number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan in September 2019 amounted to almost 280 thousand people. This is a 20.8% increase over the same month last year. Most tourists came from Russia and Georgia - 46.3%. Then the tourists from Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan, India, Saudi Arabia, etc.

The total number of tourists for the period January-September 2019 amounted to 2 million 415 thousand people. This number is also higher than the same period in 2018 by 9.6%. There are also leading Russia, Georgia and Turkey. The total number of tourists from Iran and the Middle East, on the contrary, decreased by 6.6% and 25%, respectively.
